Of all of English's musical output 'Bright Star' is her most immense and masterful work yet! Not only is she one of my favorite composers, she is responsible for making me appreciate the incredible range of the classical flute. Her cyclical evolving approach in "Moving Waters" reminds me of Julius Eastman's 'Feminine'. Between the concrète bits of far off room side rhythm and the combination of rough-sanded grit and sweet low end softness in the woodwinds, this is an instant classic.
